Hydropower has emerged as the most important generation method in Switzerland. 60 percent of the generated electricity comes from hydropower, to which small-scale hydropower plants also make a significant contribution. In addition to large-scale power plants in the Alps, we operate approximately 30 small hydropower plants in Switzerland and the neighbouring countries. The hydraulic energy generated by these power plants offers unique advantages: It is eco-friendly, carbon-neutral and natural. Our small-scale hydropower plants respect local structures and contribute towards environmentally friendly power generation.
